Why I made printable Chinese Happy Mother’s Day cards

Mother’s Day can be a hard day for some, myself included. Many years ago, both of my parents happened to pass on different Mother’s Day weekends. The holiday is still difficult for me, but my husband and children remind me how blessed I am to be a mother.

While I’m still learning Chinese alongside my kids, I know how happy my parents would be to see me using their native language. And now that my kids will grow up knowing Chinese too, they have a way to connect with their culture and their grandparents.

As a minority language, it’s difficult to find greeting cards. Most of the time, you can only purchase cards written in English. With Korean and Chinese being our minority languages, this usually means we end up having to make our own cards.

But sometimes, you don’t have the time to craft handmade cards! And writing Chinese is a challenge for many people. As always, our printables are in simplified and traditional Chinese, and we are happy to share them with you.

Chinese parents and grandparents will be so happy to receive something in their native language. It makes the card that much more special! I also hope that these printable greeting cards can help families learn Chinese vocabulary related to Mother’s Day!
