Learning Yin-Yang with Weather Stickers

YIN-YANG: 阴 (yīn / cloudy) and 阳 (yáng / light, sunny), two opposing yet complementary and interdependent forces of nature.  阴阳 is most commonly know in the Western world by the ☯ symbol.  Today we focused on the weather meaning of each character and placed stickers in stroke order.  Eventually, we will delve into the symbolism of 阴阳 – feminine vs masculine, negative vs positive, etc. 

What you need:

Amazon affiliate links provided for convenience

  1. Weather stickers
  2. Block character template (free download in simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese)
  3. Puffy paint
  4. Color printer paper

What to do:

  1. Print 阴 on blue paper and 阳 on yellow paper
  2. Draw cloud above 阴 and sun above 阳 with puffy paint.
  3. Affix cloud stickers to 阴 character and sun stickers to 阳 character
