After our fun raindrop sticker activity, we reinforced the new character 滴 (dī / drip, drop) with painting. Putting the characters into context is the best way to learn.
This was the first time that 老大 (lǎodà / oldest child) painted with q-tips and she didn’t want to stop! I actually accidentally printed out a dozen 滴 characters and she painted all of them! I hope you child enjoys this fun way to paint while learning this important character!
What you need:
- 滴 block character template (free download)
What to do:
- The only rule I give is to stay within the lines of the character. Let your child explore painting with the q-tip. He or she may like dotting the paper and then experiment with drawing strokes!
- You can add arrows to the paper for students who are learning stroke order.
