Christmas will be here in less than 2 weeks, so I am updating this post about Christmas carols in Mandarin Chinese! I have sifted through a lot of blurry and bootleg videos to compile this list of Chinese YouTube videos in hopes of saving us all time to enjoy Chinese Christmas songs during the holidays! These Chinese Christmas music videos generally have clear visual and audio quality so that kids can learn the lyrics.
Although we limit screen time to 30 minutes on the weekends for my 5-year-old and 2-year-old, I do find some Chinese videos helpful for Chinese language exposure since we are not fluent. In addition, Chinese songs are such a fun way to teach kids Chinese! I hope your family can enjoy these Chinese Christmas videos as well!
TIP: Did you know that you can slow down YouTube videos? If you hover over the video, then click on settings, one of the options is playback speed.

Chinese Christmas Music for Kids on YouTube!
1. 冷冷 der 聖誕節 (Lěng lěng der shèngdàn jié) / Merry Cold Christmas in Chinese
I’m kicking off this list with a modern Christmas song from Joyce Chu, a Malaysian Chinese singer! I chose this music video because it represents my children – the only Chinese-speaking kids in a community where few people look like them. But I love how the video shows a variety of friendly faces smiling and dancing to Chinese lyrics. I wish for my children to grow up in a world where they can be just as comfortable with who they are and have friends of all races!
2. 聖嬰孩主耶穌 (Shèng yīnghái zhǔ yēsū) / Away in the Manger in Chinese
The rest of the videos in this post features traditional Christmas music. This YouTube video has adorable illustrations about the birth of baby Jesus with Away in the Manger (Kirkpatrick ballad version) in the background. The music is very peaceful and the Mandarin Chinese lyrics are clear and easy to understand. This video has no subtitles.
3. 平安夜、聖嬰孩主耶穌 (Píng’ān yè, shèng yīnghái zhǔ yēsū / Silent Night in Chinese)
This Mandarin Chinese rendition of Silent Night has lyrics in traditional Chinese and soft illustrations in the background. The Chinese characters are the main focal point of this video. Since I am learning to read Chinese with my kids, I appreciate that the characters are highlighted as the words are sung!
4. 天使歌唱在高天 (Tiānshǐ gēchàng zài gāo tiān) / Angels We Have Heard on High in Chinese
This Chinese YouTube video has clear vocals in Mandarin Chinese and lyrics in traditional Chinese. There are no accompanying illustrations or cartoons.
5. 圣诞铃声 (Shèngdàn língshēng) / Jingle Bells in Chinese
This is a cute video of the classic Jingle Bells in Chinese! I love the giant size traditional Chinese characters, and the Mandarin Chinese lyrics are easy to understand! Please note that sometimes that Jingle Bells is also translated as 铃儿响叮当 (líng er xiǎng dīngdāng) in Chinese.
6. 祝你圣诞快乐 (Zhù nǐ shèngdàn kuàilè) / We wish you a Merry Christmas in Chinese
Little Fox Chinese is a Chinese learning program with a resourceful YouTube channel. This cartoon video of We Wish You a Merry Christmas in Chinese is pretty cute! The audio is in Mandarin Chinese and subtitles are in simplified Chinese. The vocals are clear but they sing pretty fast compared to the other videos here.
